Job Set Up

Unlike any other software system, QSM System requires very little time and very limited information for setting up the job in the System, The setting up of the Job can be as simple as just typing in the following by the supervisor in the Summary Screen;

Once the above has been set by the supervisor, the takersoff can then start measurement individually and the supervisor can later amend and re-code the data input by the takers-off easily. This unique function of QSM System can provide a quick start of the measurement even with very limited information at the beginning of the project.

Item Buildup Screen

No matter for working in a computer system or working manually, it is always the desire of his own piece of 'Scrap Paper' to work on for which he can;

• Draft his own item description,

• Measure the work according to his own taking-off sequence;

• Retrieve, amend and edit his own item description and quantities taking off
  details to his own preference;

• Mark and side note (to-take notes) to remind and supplement his measurement
  details while reading the drawings;

• Record the date and the user input the data, and the date the data amended by
  the supervisor.

Draft Item Description

Drafting of the Item Description in computer taking off by any other software system is always the complaint of the users who are usually working manually on a piece of paper, as the drafting of the Item Description can be simplified by either Xerox printing or rough hand writing which can be further amended later. In short, the users do not need to actually type in the Item Description with manual taking
off as that is the task of the typists.

With QSM System, no such complaint will have occurred. The users can draft the Item Description in the Item Buildup Screen by the following methods with which the chance of actual typing in the Item Description i.e. completely new description will be minimal;

Copy from Standard Phraseology in Central Library;

Copy from other Job Description Library;

Copy from his own Job Description Library;

Draft up a new Item by amending the existing headings, work sections and items description.
